At BCG I have found everything that is important to me in a career.

Working here has given me intellectual challenge while also providing a high degree of autonomy and frequent opportunities to make a significant impact. In addition, I work with colleagues whom I both respect and enjoy spending time with.

In my time here, I have had a wide variety of experiences, each of which might be encountered in other careers, but all of which certainly could not be found in any other single profession. I have had the opportunity to engage in complex problem solving, deliver structured communication, and implement creative and innovative solutions to yield new results.

Casey earned a BA in mathematics and Spanish from Rice University.

She then worked as an instructor in Vanderbilt University’s mathematics department before earning her PhD in mathematics from Vanderbilt in 2007.

Since joining BCG, she has worked on projects in the education and health care fields.

My transition from pure R&D to a technical sales role piqued my interest in how companies do business. Faced with two options—go back to school for an MBA or join a consulting company—I chose to move to BCG, a decision that could not have worked out better for me.

Over the years, BCG has provided an environment from which I can explore beyond the confines of my technical education while fully leveraging my background and capabilities in a wide range of projects. I have been able to use both my work experience and my scientific background in addressing issues in the operations functions of several companies and in industries such as consumer goods and health care. 

My initial impressions of BCG as having a demanding but compassionate culture aptly played out when, for personal reasons, I was allowed to transfer from Chicago to Zurich. Not only did this allow me to continue in a field I like and to broaden my experience, but it also accommodated my personal situation.

As I have progressed through my career at BCG, the apprenticeship model has provided me with opportunities to mentor, and be mentored by outrageously talented individuals. Needless to say, I am looking forward to having similar opportunities in the future.

Vaidyanathan holds a PhD in materials science from the University of California, Santa Barbara, an MS in materials science from the University of Virginia, and a BTech from the Indian Institute of Technology.

After completing his PhD, Srikant worked in research and development at a specialty glass and ceramics manufacturer.

He later moved to technical sales and then joined BCG’s Chicago office in 2003.
