A New Zealander, Tim Bennett, joined BCG in 1993 and has worked in Australia, New Zealand, the United States, and South Africa. He moved to Kuala Lumpur in 1998, in the midst of an economic crisis, to assist our financial services clients in restructuring their businesses.

Tim's primary focus is financial services — specifically consumer financial services for banks and insurers. He has consulted in this area in all regions of the world. Tim has also worked in corporate development, including portfolio strategies for large corporations, mergers and acquisitions, and post-merger integrations.

Before he joined BCG, Tim worked with the Strategic Planning Group at the Bank of New Zealand, assisting in the bank's recovery after extensive loan losses. He was also a member of the restructuring team at National Provident Fund, New Zealand's largest pension fund, before its privatisation.

Tim graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce in Business Administration and Computer Science from Victoria University of Wellington and an MBA in Finance and Strategic Planning from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. He and his wife have an 8-year old daughter. Outside work, Tim and his family spend time exploring Malaysia and the rest of Southeast Asia
